Whether for SEO or SEA, many tools are available on the market. Ranxplorer stands out, and I use it regularly. And I decided today to present it to you through this test.
Ranxplorer Overview
Before getting to the heart of the matter, here are a few words to present the solution.
Ranxplorer is both an SEO tool and an online SEA tool. And it was launched in 2016 by a French team based in Grenoble and is already recognized for having created the Ranks.fr positioning tracking tool ten years earlier.
The main advantage of this tool is that it has one of the most significant natural and paid SEO databases in France and USA, i.e., 3 billion results, 100 million keywords, and 30 million sites.
In addition, Ranxplorer allows you to do many things:
- Audit the presence of your site to detect SEO and SEA opportunities
- Analyze the SEO strategy and SEA campaigns of its competitors.
- Identify the most relevant keywords and expressions in its theme
Ranxplorer Features
Let’s now review the different features accessed through the top menu.
Global summary
As its name suggests, the global summary allows you to have a complete overview of the website to be analyzed. For SEO, we see an estimate of natural traffic, the number of keywords, and the number of URLs positioned.
Regarding the SEA, there is also an estimate of the traffic generated, the number of targeted keywords, and the monthly budget for Google Ads campaigns. It is also interesting to see the evolution of traffic and the distribution in the SERPs.
Finally, you can also see the history of these results over the last 12 months.
Natural results
This feature is the one I use the most since it gives much information regarding the SEO data of a website.
By default, we arrive directly at the SEO Summary tab, which tells us the natural traffic, the keywords positioned, the number of URLs positioned, and the traffic gain (or loss). In the form of graphs, you can also visualize the evolution of traffic, the growth of positions, and the positions by slices.
Here are the other SEO features that can be found in the different tabs:
- Keywords: We see all the keywords with their position, the URL, the search volume, the estimate of the traffic generated, the trend curve, the number of results, the CPC, and the level of competition.
- URLs: This tab allows you to see the number of pages positioned with the keywords associated with each URL. There is also an estimate of the traffic generated per page and the evolution.
- Ranxplorer: This feature allows you to analyze the sub-domains of a site with, for each, the traffic estimate, the keywords positioned, the pages, and the gains/losses of traffic.
- Competitors: This tab is convenient, giving a quick overview of our primary competitors, first, through a graph of history and intensity and various indicators such as traffic, positioned keywords, the percentage of common keywords, and the level of competition.
- Missed keywords: This is a complementary feature to “Competitors” because it allows you to identify the keywords you are not yet positioned on compared to other sites in your theme.
Short-term gain and Long-term gain: These two tabs allow you to estimate traffic evolution.
Paid results
Now let’s move on to the Paid Results feature. The SEA Summary tab shows us paid traffic, estimated monthly budget, ranked keywords, and sponsored placements.
In the form of graphs, you can also visualize the evolution of traffic, the development of the estimated budget, and the advertising blocks.
The other SEA features can be found in the different tabs. Since they are very similar to natural results features, we won’t go into detail.
The main difference is made at the level of the Duplicate Keywords tab, which is very practical since it allows you to identify the keywords already positioned in SEO on which you have put the SEA budget.
Universal search
I use the Universal Search feature very little. However, it can be helpful if you want to analyze the keywords positioned on Google Images, Google Maps, or Google News. We find the different keywords, URLs, and Ranxplorator tabs.
Keywords
To complete this overview, the Keywords feature is undoubtedly one of the most useful. It allows you to analyze expressions and find other keywords.
Here are the different tabs that can be found:
- Search results: This global view allows for a keyword to give us helpful information such as search volume, seasonality, maximum Cost per Click, and intensity of competition. We also find the first 50 natural results, the first paying results, and the first in a universal search.
- Evolution of results: This tab compares the development of the first 50 natural results to the previous month.
- Related Keywords: As the name suggests, these are associated keywords with the main query.
- Related questions: These are questions related to the main keyword.
- Semantic cocoon: This feature can be attractive as part of a semantic cocoon strategy to find relevant queries.
Ranxplorer Pricing

As an SEO consultant, I chose to opt for the annual Premium plan, which costs me €39.90 excluding VAT/month.
Ranxplorer vs SEMrush
If we compare Ranxplorer with a single tool, it would undoubtedly be SEMrush, which you can find in my review.
Regarding competitor analysis, Ranxplorer performs better thanks to its more extensive database. Regarding ergonomics, my choice also turns to the latter because it is easier to use.
However, my preference goes to SEMrush. Although it is more expensive, it offers many more features, significantly improving content, technical auditing, or even backlink analysis. Ultimately, it depends more on your preference to have an all-in-one tool or a range of complementary tools.
My opinion on the tool
Ranxplorer is one of the essential software to have in your toolbox.
In addition to its vast database, it has a considerable number of convenient features to optimize its SEO strategy and SEO campaigns.
I also appreciate the effort made on design and ergonomics because this is an essential criterion for me. Finally, compared to other equivalent tools, the quality/price ratio of Ranxplorer is excellent. Do not hesitate to test the device and give your opinion in the comments.
